This girl cannot express how proud she is of her boys back home. The Ravens showed up in Denver although ESPN seemed to think they should not bother, and they won. But they didn't just win. They got behind, came back, got behind again, and came back again. It was surreal to watch a team you love never give up.
With the success of the Ravens (although many would blame refs, or bad luck on the part of their oponents), several discussions have been brought up regarding Joe Flacco's talent and Ray Lewis' character. As a Ravens fan since they day the Ravens came into fruition (despite feeling badly for Cleveland as it sucks to have a team leave your city), I totally support both of these players, as well as all of boys who wear Purple and Black. As far as talent goes, the Ravens have never been a team known for just one or two stand-out players. As soon as one of them gets credit for doing something great, he instantly credits the team as a whole.
While Ray Lewis may have had a questionable group of boys in the past, he is a true leader on and off the field and has given the fans of Baltimore someone to love and respect for so many years. It will be sad to see him retire, even though he's been injured frequently over the past few years.
More discussion on individual players who have stepped up over the next few weeks (and maybe I'll break out of my one-dimensional fandom in the next few weeks), but for now I'm basking in the glory of the Saturday night win.
Thank you, Baltimore Ravens. Thank you.
